A Whole Different Angle

Here's a thought beyond comprehension
Almighty God can see a man's intention
Surveying the reasoning in the heart
He knows it's corners, every last part
He knows the soul from the inside on out
Nothing is hidden to Him without a doubt

He watches from an angle that's matchless
All is in view, nothing can be suppressed
He knows the innermost workings of a man
For each one He has the perfect plan
The Lord intends for us to live at peace
My being, my soul to Jesus I release

Eternally Risen

He was the perfect One to walk the earth;
The blameless man--God even from birth.
Born with very specific purpose and goal,
Pay a debt and once again make us whole.
Each step of His life was utterly pure,
Leading up to a horrible death to endure.
There is no doubt that He did once die,
In the same turn He now is surely alive.
He was taken up to heaven, eternally risen,
Freeing saints from an everlasting prison.

He died for our sake, to rise once again;
Winning a battle for our souls endless domain.
Paying the debt we were to forever own,
Promising to never ever leave me alone.
Walking with us to acquire an immortal prize:
Our treasures in Heaven far above the skies.
For now He's seated at the Father's right hand,
Until His kingdom comes taking over this land.
For His work I give Him all the glory and praise,
To my very last breath my voice I'll raise.

Cross

Filled with many protruding slivers,
Frightening is the pain it delivers.
Iron spikes driven to hold a man,
Affliction is the number one plan.
An awful instrument of death,
It takes away life and breath.
Slowly carrying the spirit away,
Horrendous defines this display.
Picturing this being put to use
Paints images of evil not truce.
The thought brings fear to mind,
Clear visions of a hideous kind.

A holy man experienced this pain.
The time came when he was slain.
God allowed such things to be done
Knowing a battle would be won.
His closest friends questioned why;
They never wanted to say good-bye.
This man knew the true commission.
He was guided by God's ambition.
Restoring a relationship once lost,
A kinship we once had and tossed.
Death of a blameless was the price,
Paid for only once, not twice.
A sacrificial gift for you and me,
So we can live with Him eternally.
